How to register for grading

In order to grade, you must first have a CKF membership. See the previous post. You must also have permission from your sensei, so ask me if you can grade. I need to grant permission through your CKF account.

To apply for grading, log into your CKF account and click on “Events and Courses”. Assuming you are applying for the grading that is part of our annual seminar, it should show under “events near me” 4 events, one for each level being graded. If it doesn’t or if you are applying to grade outside of Saskatoon, use the search window at the top to search for the city the grading is located in.

Click on the event that applies to you. When it pops up, there will be two options for “Tickets”, one senior and one junior. Click “Add” for the one that applies to you. It should pop up a window with your email address and +/- buttons for number of tickets. Click “+” to request 1 ticket and then click “proceed to checkout”. If it pops up “ticket not purchasable”, you probably clicked junior when you are senior or vice-versa. Alternatively you didn’t pay your CKF membership fees, see the previous post. If you clicked the right thing and you’re paid up and you still see an error, contact me.

At the checkout, click on “pay with card” and follow the instructions.

Note that the fee you pay here is to take the exam only. If you pass the exam, you will be asked to pay another fee for the certificate. If you are unable to attend the exam due to injury or some emergency, send an email to secretary@kendo-canada.com asking to cancel and the exam fee will be refunded. This only applies if you give advance notice. If you are a no-show without advance notice, the exam fee will not be refunded.
